We had tried to reach him through both obvious and unconventional channels, only to come up empty-handed each time. But this time we faced an outcome we were never expecting. So, as the gates of ZNA Gathering 2024 were opening, we received an unexpected email amid the hundreds of inquiries about last-minute ticket changes. To our amazement, it was an email from Dara Lee himself, reaching out to us after hearing wonderful things about ZNA Gathering to introduced himself and asking us if we wanted to learn more about his legacy in the scene. Yeah right!!! Like we did not know who Dara Lee is. Who does he think we are? Amateurs?

Anyway, at first, we thought it was a prank, considering the timing but especially because the address of that email was to obvious to be from someone we could not find in spite of all our Sherlock skills.
But it proved to be the man himself and once we realized that Dara Lee was genuinely expressing his interest in sharing his music, which he believed would be a perfect fit for our vision, we were ecstatic. We even secretly hoped for a last-minute cancellation – something we usually dread – just to secure a slot for him.

Nevertheless, we composed ourselves and focused on the remarkable lineup we had already curated for the event, knowing that opportunities would arise in the future. Since then, we have been working closely with Dara Lee and musical collaborator writer/producer Marcello Bonifacii, aiming to bring you a memorable experience filled with the best Koyote Records had to offer. Music that have left an indelible mark on our hearts.
