From ancient times to modern days if psychedelics are to be experienced to their full potential there is a need for designated spaces and caregivers who can assist people through the rough parts of the journey. This talk will explore the concept of a designated safe space and caregivers from indigenous cultures to projects around the world working in the psy-trance and electronic scenes. What makes psychedelic harm-reduction work so special is the fact that with the right space and assistance a psychedelic crisis can actually turn into an important transformative experience in the individual's´ life. Since any member of the psychedelic community may find herself next to someone having a psychedelic crisis the core of the talk will aim at giving the tools and guidelines for supporting such kinds of mental, psychological and spiritual crisis. Boaz managed the biggest psychedelic harm-reduction project in Israel for 6 years. The “Anashim Tovim” (Good People) project works year round in underground trance parties and festivals in Israel assisting hundreds of people each year. Boaz is also one of the editors of the Israeli psychadelic magazine “Lapsychonaut". He is a psychedelic scholar and poet who has published two books of poetry. He believes that aiding a psychedelic crisis to a certain level is a basic knowledge that all psychonauts should have in order to strengthen our community, and I believe this workshop can give the needed tools and perspective for S.O.S psychedelic situation.
